Danielle and I since year 1, always saw the PMC as an opportunity to meet awesome people as well as potential boyfriends. Well, its now year 6(!) and we already have boyfriends(non-PMCers, but they will do) but we still lack a giant network of awesome bike fighting cancer freaks like ourselves. In the yearly survey post-PMC weekend we make it a point to mention our desire to have more events dedicated to the "younger" group of riders in the PMC. Hey, we realize the average age is 45, but that doesn't mean there inst a rising generation of millennial tackling this annual bike-a-thon!
This year alone there have been not 1, but 2 events dedicated to our crowd, and last night Danielle and I got to attend one!
It was held at the Charlesmark Hotel in Back Bay. We (well, I because Danielle is still semi-jobless) popped over after work. The lounge is small, intimate and well designed. The PMC event was on the "top" level and it was a great space to meet some really wonderful PMC riders and staff. Seriously, Pan Mass riders, volunteers, and staff are pretty much be the coolest kids on the block.
Danielle and I discussed our lack of fundraising to date this year. Which, if we are being honest, has become the norm over the last few years. It takes a lot of effort to throw together events for fundraising and we haven't quite figured out how to make them profitable yet. Now that Danielle is back from her 3 year hiatus in D.C., we are planning on brainstorming ways to get to our fundraising goals and beyond!
PMC is just ONE MONTH away. Time to get cracking!

PMC boyfriends
DC posting:
Les and I are on the hunt for PMC boyfriends. It makes perfect sense.
We love to bike, PMC men love to bike. We love rock hard legs and abs,
PMC men *have* rock hard legs and abs. You do the math.
Our hunt has been tough so far cause our prey is well camoflauged in
the mass of 5,200 cyclists all wearing the same jersey. But that
hasn't stopped us. The PMC supplied us with name tags for the back of
our bikes. Their purpose was to encourage pleasant biking behavior-
the difference between "passing on your left, lesley" and "MOVE OVER."
Well Les and I have found another use for them. Drive-by (bike-by?)
flirting. "on your left, loooooooouis" ( the equivalent of a
verbal :wink wink:).
No one has officially asked us to go steady yet but I think we're
setting the stage for landing boyfriends at dinner.
We even have an opening line planned. "can I buy you a beer?" (they're
free). Yep, after 85 miles, that's the best we've got. Maybe that's
why we find ourselves on this hunt in the first place. Hmm.
Well till this all pans out, Les is covered. Just look at how she's
enjoying these chocolate, salty balls.
