Fundraising: Means and Methods part 1

The Pan Mass Challenge does a pretty decent job of having multiple fundraising resources. There's the typical donation website (in which you can add your own personal cyclist avatar and virtually ride behind me!), there's a text to donate number, and of course the old school mail in check donation form. I'd like to see some more social media tools (Apps, QR's) in the future, but that's for another post.
This year, I've finally pulled the trigger on my pmc business cards. I decided to order through Zazzle http://www.zazzle.com/. They had the option for the smaller skinny 1x3 card (which fit our awesome bike over cancer logo!). The design interface was easy and the overall production and shipping was quick. I recieved the cards on monday and it even came with a quick card ejector case!   Hopefully this will generate some more donations so I can order some more!

This year's PMC jerseys have been unveiled and they look goooooooood.
Are those ... dare I even dream ... arm warmers?! Well done, Billy Starr. Well done.

I know we don't actually get our jerseys til August, but I can already imagine how they'll look on ...

I know, too cool for words. Use money instead: DONATE!

Finding Boys to Find Me Bike Trails!

For those of you who don’t subscribe to, or just don’t read, my daily “Critical Things That Are Happening In Danielle’s Life That You Should Know About” newsletter (yesterday I ate a whole wheel of brie!), let me fill you in. Since last summer’s PMC, I packed up my life and moved down to DC to start law school. (*Insert some sort of horribly ominous music track here*)

My temporary absence from the Bay State will in no way stop me from returning to Mass for this year’s PMC – our fourth and counting! – but it *has* meant that I need to get acquainted with a new set of bike paths in the meantime.

I’ve been told that DC is flush with beautiful and expansive routes. And I’m sure they make maps that tell me where all these mythical trails begin and end. In fact, I’m pretty sure my dad gave me a book of said maps before I moved down here. But that book is buried in one of the countless un-opened boxes that never made it past our garage on moving day. And finding and reading a map in general… well that would just take too much effort. I’m a busy lady. I have blog posts to write, homework to avoid, and a biker boyfriend to find!

So for the sake of efficiency (and fun), I’ve decided to combine a couple of items on my to-do list and use the power of the internet to find boys who will find me bike trails.

That’s right - two birds with one dating website post. Brilliant! I should have thought of this years ago! … Oh wait, I did… But since Bicyngle is still in the development stage (seriously circle of friends, someone learn how to make a website!) I’ve had to resort to an already established site, but ya know what – that’s okay, cause this plan is working out smashingly!

Seriously. I think this is one of the top three best ideas I’ve ever had (right after signing up for the PMC and picking Les as a random craigslist roomie all those years ago. And while we’re making lists, the top three worst choices of my life: 1 – law school, 2 – letting my mom “trim” my bangs as a kid, 3 – not marrying Ryan Gosling. I guess the last one isn’t technically a choice. But it’s certainly a regret.)

If things go according to schedule, I’ll know every DC bike route by the end of the month.

And who knows, maybe I’ll even find some nice biker boyfriend(s) along the way.

The possibilities are endless, and the stories are guaranteed to be entertaining.

So stay tuned.

And in the meantime… donate!
